CASA VALENCIA
Valencia is a celebration of craftsmanship, memory and place. Set within a 1950s apartment overlooking the former Turia riverbed, the project began with a clear intention: to preserve the soul of the home while reconnecting it to the Mediterranean landscape that surrounds it.
Inspired by the gardens of the Turia and the owner’s deep connection to nature, the design weaves together the lushness of the outdoors with the architectural heritage of Valencia. Original mouldings and mosaic floors were carefully restored, while new interventions draw from the city’s rich modernist tradition, creating a dialogue between past and present.
Ceramic arches, handcrafted mosaics and natural materials introduce rhythm, texture and warmth throughout the apartment. Influenced by the work of architect José María Manuel Cortina and the geometric language of traditional Nolla mosaics, the project embraces ornament not as decoration, but as a way of preserving cultural memory and craftsmanship.
More than a renovation, the apartment becomes a contemporary interpretation of Valencian identity: a home where heritage and innovation coexist, where artisanal detail meets everyday life, and where the Mediterranean spirit is present in every room.
